Synopsis of the concert program - ensemble "Skomorokhi" (Korea)

The first part

1. Concert program opens by the dance from Smolensky region from the Cenral Russia called "Gusatchok". This is the dance-game - guys and girls, walking past each other show in a humorous way movements of ducks and ganders.
2. On the stage is the oldest Russian stringed instrument - this is jingling gusli (psaltery). They were first mentioned in the century VI A D. Konstantin Shakhanov is playing. He is also an author of the play - "Fantasia on Three Russian Themes". Russian folk melodies - dancing and lyrical, masterful and simple are passing by each other.
Popular Russian dance "Barynia" is accompanied by the ancient Russian folk music instrument jingling gusli (psaltery). This is the concert version of the folk dancing melody performed by Konstantin Shakhanov.
3. Dance from Arkhangelsk region from the northern town Shenkursk. It is called "Shenkurski Zakovirki". This is the rivalry who is better between the girl and the fellow. Here they sedately went on the stage, gave each other regards and competition started...
4. Russian city song - music romance. This is the favourite in Russia music singing genre.
Love and joy, love - memory, love - expectation, love - betray. That is what about two singing miniatures of the century XIX. The solo is soprano from the world-famous St.Petersburg Mariinsky Opera and Ballet Theatre Svetlana Volkova. The song-pray "Ave Maria" by Italian composer of century XVI Julio Kachini. This is the music of soul iyself, which is understandable to people living in different countries.

5. Dance of cossacks from Don, came from the south of Russia. Cossacks, who live on the river Don, have very rich singing and dancing traditions. Colorful costumes, temperamental dances of freedom-loving cossacks are very popular in many countries.
The dance is staged by Zara Liangolf, choreographer of the ensemble.
6. Russian folk songs, loved for their lively rhythm and intimacy. The modern song "Cranes" is written by composer Jan Frenkel about Russia and its soldiers, killed while defending freedom of their Motherland. The memory about them lives and they are alive too, they turned only into white cranes. This is what this song is about.
Dashing Russian folk song "I will go in the street" about the fellow, who is dreaming about meeting the girl, whom he will love until the end of his life. Solo is baritone Vitale Korotaev.
A Christmas song of F. Gruber "Still night" is famous all over the wordl, it glorifies the joyful instant of Crist`s birth.

7. Dance from the Central Russia, town Viatka - Viatskay dance with birds whistling. This dance is the young girls' game, where everyone has her own character and temperament in relation to each other and it is clear in every couple, who will be the main - he or she.
The dance is staged by ensemble's choreographer Zara Liangolf.
8. Small with original sound accordion, which is called Concertina, will show its performing capabilities in the hands of brilliant virtuoso, one of the best and oldest performers on concertina in St.Petersburg and Russia Valentine Osipov.

9. You can see now on the stage the unique Russian xylophone - musical instrument called "The Firewoods", made of birch logs. For this special instrument Konstantin Shakhanov wrote a mischievous play "Galop".

10. Russian folk dance on the melody of popular Russian song "Kalinka". Dancing movements, typical for Russian dance, tricks, Russian costumes - all that is shown in the dance by the ensemble's choreographic group.

The second part

1. The second part is opened by the dance from the Southern region of Russia - town Kursk, it is called "Tchebatukha". It is impossible to translate the word "tchebatukha", it does not mean the subject, it means the spirit. That is why the joyful village dance of lads and girls is on the stage.
2. Humorous dance with tambourines. This is the name of that dancing composition. This dance is a competition, who will better, more interesting and unexpectedly think of new dancing movement. Applause, love and attention only to the most masterful performers.
3. Russian folk song "Farewell, joy" is a dramatic song about miserable love. This song is from the repertoire of the most famous Russian bass of XX century Fyodor Shalyapin. The song is performed a cappella, soloist - bass Alexander Tchurikov.
Russian folk song "Along the Piterskaja". Joyfull young guy goes to visit his sweetheart and a real musical show is born in his imagination. Solo is - bass Alexander Tchurikov.
An Appeal to God, the prayer of A. H. Malotte "Our father" is performed by bass Alexander Tchurikov.
4. Russian music romance of century XIX "Driving show" is a small scene, when young people fall in love from the first glimpse.
And the third song, very vibrant one, in the character of the cruel jipsy romance called "Horses-animals", became a folk song even in Russia, although it was written by composer Matvei Blanter, author of the world-famous "Katiusha".
"The great God" (words by S. Boberg) praises the greatness of the Creator.

5. Humorous music play "Village Accordionist", performed by solo of instrumental group. The first solo is the biggest balalaika in the world - bass viol, then starts the smaller balalaika prima and, at last, two accordionists, you choose, who is better.
6. Music picture "Joy Lozhkar" - is a masterful performance on one of the most unusual gay music instruments - simple peasant wooden spoons. They were used by Russians also to play music and what came out of it will be shown by solo Konstantin Shakhanov.
7. Humorous quadrille, in which ensemble "Skomorokhi" suggests you to learn how to dance Russian quadrille. Attention... we invite you!
8. The most popular Russian folk songs were made about the great Russian river Volga, national Russian hero Stepan Rasin and his love to Persian princess - that is what the first song is about.
The second song "Ochi chernye"(Black Eyes) is about love to a girl, about her wonderful eyes (ochi), which drive mad.
The third song is a very popular one "The Long Road" - about endless roads of Russia, about hitched up troika(three horses), about melancholy towards sweetheart.

9. Popular classical melodies of composers from different countries will be performed by xylophone's virtuoso Valentin Osipov. "Chardash" by V. Monti is the first and at the end J. Rossinin "Fantasia" from the opera "Vilhelm Tell".

10. Dance on the music theme of the popular Russian soft play "Kamarinskaja". This dance is joy, dance - fire, different sides of the Russian character - lyrical and vivid, temperamental and sincere.
